My first born child has for several years been obsessed with the color blue. He wears only blue, he dislikes his mother’s clothing, “unless it’s blue,” and during his preschool days we not once saw a picture drawn in anything but indigo tones.
I have played Joni Mitchell’s album “Blue” for him, which he finds acceptably melodic, though he prefers Johnny Cash. And of course we’ve absorbed “Kind of Blue,” the Miles Davis masterpiece; he still prefers good country music and bluegrass.
But really he just wants the whole world to be blue. It matches his mood.
